Faced with an unsustainable health system, New Zealand’s Canterbury District Health Board is reaping the benefits of a health system transformation where more than 480,000 people are using a shared electronic clinical record.
Known as HealthONE, the opt-out patient record system places the patient and their home at the centre of the district's various health service providers, including hospitals, GPs, aged care facilities, and community services.
